Using the 2X Client

Using the 2X Client:
The 2X client application allows you to access remote applications hosted by Logistics Logic, including CargoWise, Quickbooks and others.

1: Before You Begin...
You will need to collect the following information (which we will provide you) before you begin installation of the 2X application client:

Gather the following information:
  1. Primary Server Name (or I.P. Address)
  2. Secondary Server Name (if applicable)
  3. Port
  4. Connection Mode (Generally "Regular Gateway")
  5. Username, Password and Domain

2: Download the Client Software
Click here to download the 2X Client.  Choose either "Run" (recommended) or "Save As".  When choosing the "Save As" option, choose a memorable location, such as your desktop.

3: Install the Client Software
Once you have downloaded the 2X client software, run the application by double-clicking the downloaded file.  If you chose the "Run" option above, the installation will automatically begin.
  1. At the welcome screen, click "Next"
  2. On the next screen, check the "I accept..." checkbox and click "Next"
  3. When prompted for the Destination Folder, change as needed (generally, you will leave as-is) and click "Next"
  4. Click the "Install" button
The software installation will now begin.

When completed, you will be given the option to "Launch ApplicationServer client".  Check this box and click "Finish"

You should then see a message stating "No Server was specified, do you want to search for one?".  Click No at this prompt and you will see a new dialog.

4: Configure the Client Software
In the resulting dialog, click the "Options" button and you will see the dialog below:

In this dialog, you will enter the information gathered in step 1, then select the "Local Resources" tab.  Note: if you un-check the "Auto logon" option show above, other users may be able to gain access to your applications when using your computer.  If you are the only person who can use your computer, you may wish to leave the "Auto logon" box checked.

Next, set the following parameters in the Local Resources screen shown below:

  • Remote Computer Sound: Do Not Play
  • Keyboard: On the remote computer
  • Local devices:
    • Un-Check "Disk drives" unless you plan to save files locally to your computer
    • Check "Printers" (if applicable) if you wish to print to the printers on your computer
    • Un-Check "Serial Ports"
Click OK to return to the 2X client.

5: Create Shortcuts
In the resulting dialog, you should now see the applications for which you are authorized.

Right-click in this dialog, then choose the "Create Shortcuts (all apps)" option to create shortcuts on your desktop, as shown below.

Your application is now setup, and you should see shortcuts to these applications on your desktop.
